I am a huge huge fan of soups! I mean, all kinds of soups. The only problem I have is called Jean-Félix! He is not! HA-HA-HA! Or maybe should I say, he was not. After several years spending together and after many, many, many soups, I think I succeed in making him enjoy most of them. It’s a big victory! LOL I’m still crossing my fingers about mushrooms. Yes … you read well… He hates mushrooms. I love to say that it is its only big default. But about all the rest, he is almost perfect! Says the girl who’s totally in love! HA-HA-HA
To me, some of the best meals are the simple one. No need to go crazy with hours and hours of cooking to put something delicious on the table and to have an amazing time. As I am completely addicted to eggs, there are often part of the party! I love them in every way. Boiled, fried, scrambled, poached, hard … I don’t care!! For breakfast, lunch, dinner or late snack … No matter … I just LOVE them! So here’s one of several ways that I cook them.
At first that recipe was for as lemon squares … But some raspberries caught my attention at the market so I decide to make lemon square in a different way. I thought they would simply look and taste fantastic as pies topped with fresh raspberries. I was right! Raspberries and lemon is such an amazing paring.
When I bought this embossed rolling pin on Etsy I was very eager to receive it! I mean, I love butter cookies! I have plenty pastry cutters to shape then according to my mood but this little thing … it seemed next level! I let you judge by yourself but to me, it really did the trick. The prettiest butter cookies I’ve ever made 😊 Oh! Did I mention that it came with a recipe? I usually don’t try the recipes found on the back of a box but I had a different feeling about this one. I was right. I didn’t change a thing and it was PERFECT! So with no further ado, here it is.
We were in San Francisco couple of weeks ago for a photoshoot. Yes, we are the luckiest one who had to shoot the entire menu of a pizzeria. You know what is the best in that kind of contract? When after the photoshoot, you can eat all the menu you photographed. HA-HA-HA I love my job so much!
When Sefra and I announced our friends and family that we would start a blog about food and cocktails, many asked us if we would do cocktail and food pairing. Even if I think that sometimes cocktails can be great friends with food, I honestly think that wine is so much better. Bottom line, my answer to this question was “no” unless I really feel for it and guess what? Today I feel for it.
The first time I saw Khachapuri it was on Instagram. I thought it was one of the coolest things to eat I ever saw. I didn’t know what it was at this moment. I did some research and I discovered that Khachapuri was a typical meal from Georgie. Apparently Khachapuri are everywhere there. You can find many versions of this popular meal but if you ask me, as soon as I saw, cheese, eggs and butter I was conquered and there was no need to look further… I had to try! HA-HA! I guess you’re beginning to know us a bit now. This is totally our type of food.
For me, this recipe is 100% French and it reminds me of all these amazing times we had when we were in France. French cuisine is one of my favourites. It’s true that French cuisine is most of the time very technical but not this recipe. As I’m not a professional cook and because I love comfort food, I prefer simple dishes. In my opinion, they are the best! Most of the greatest chefs out there developed their passions and learned their skills when they were young. Playing and running around their mother and grandmother in the kitchen when they were cooking. They were soaked in all these cooking traditions and all this know-how that’s shared from generation to generation. Comfort food evokes the pleasure, the warmness and the happiness linked to our childhood.
I’ve already talked to you about Paquita and my family in Spain remember? This amazing recipe of Croquetas? Well, this one is from Paquita as too! I’m so happy and lucky to get these authentic recipes from her. It’s Celia and Gemma, Paquita’s daughters, who sent me their mom’s recipe. It is simply great! They are Sister to me and I love them more than I can say. They’re still feeding me even if we are far by sending me these recipes involving and evoking all the taste and flavours of Spain … my lovely home. They’re all there and I’m in Quebec. We are not together right now but when I close my eyes and take a bite, I feel like they were here with me and I feel the warmth and the love. It helps me to wait until the next visit.
Stuffed donut is one of my favourite things in the word. Every time it’s a surprise. You know the kind you are choosing but you never know how it will really be inside. But I love them no matter what as soon as they are fluffy, soft and sweet! I had stuffed donuts in so many places in my life and honestly I think that I like them all. We always have a favourite in everything though.
