Pasta, Pasta, Pasta!!! What can I say??? I just love pasta! I love them so bad I could eat some every single day! Imagine when you are making your own pasta. The feeling we had Jean-Felix and I the first time we made a batch of fresh pasta and had our first bite was amazing. A mix of pride, power and feeling of ecstasy! HAHAHA It’s like… “OH MY GOD! Did we really make this?” What a cool feeling! Then if you mix your fresh pasta with some delicious mushroom braised beef, I can guarantee you’ll go straight to even! Hallelujah!

Have I already told you? We are addicted to pasta! We could eat some every single day. There are so many ways to cook them and so many different kinds and shapes of pasta that it’s impossible to get bored with it.

I chose Mafaldine pasta to make this recipe because I find them so chic! They are like little ribbons and I thought that it would go perfectly with a thick cream sauce! Those lovely pasta were named in honour of Princess Mafalda De Savoie from Italy. When you have a princess name, it comes with some kind of pressure…. Don’t you think? HAHAHA I hope that you will love this recipe and find that the Malfadine pasta are as good as they are beautiful!

What I prefer about Italian food is the simplicity. Fresh ingredients, love and wine (Oh! and amaro for Jean-Felix’s digestif). That’s all you need! When we were there, every time we were in a grocery store, we were feeling like kids in a toy store. All the products you can find in there, it’s unbelievable. I could have spent my entire day shopping for food. They have this amazing way to put some love everywhere and make you feel like you need to buy everything. Them beautiful packaging and all the diversity… OHHH GOD I want to go back now!

Oh … and have you ever tried to translate the name of these Italian pasta in French??? HÉHÉHÉ You will see!

What’s up everybody! Valentine’s day coming and I’m sure many of you are looking for the perfect gift. Well, this might save your day. I just tried a new gin from Belgium and it’s INSANE!!!

I must say I’m not the one who usually like the “not London dry style” when it comes to gin, but in this case, the ingredients line up really teased me. I think the word “tease” fits perfectly the mood here since X-Gin self-proclaimed themselves an aphrodisiac gin. Well, I don’t know about that yet but the cocoa and vanilla in the mix, added to the marketing of the aphrodisiac property make of this gin, on top of being delicious, the perfect Valentine’s day gift. Don’t you think?

The first time I saw these little pieces of heaven we were in Napoli. I stopped right in front of the window of the bakery. I was totally charmed! Now, when I think about it … I realize how stupid I was because I didn’t try them there. Nope! Instead, I took a picture to make sure I would never forget and I continued walking. This is one of my biggest problems when I’m travelling. I don’t want to miss a thing. We walk as much as we can, all day long, to discover the city and sometimes we realize it’s happy hours and we spent the whole day without having a single bite. On top of that, most of the time we can’t make it back to where we found something because … we simply can’t find it back. I know it’s CRIMINAL with so much amazing food to try everywhere. That being said, I can’t wait to visit Italy again and taste Pignolis there and compare them with mine. Honestly… I’m not worried!

The star bread is a magnificence! We love it so much. Jean-Felix can eat the whole thing all by himself! Yes, he eats like a baby dinosaur! Ha-Ha-Ha! The most amazing with this recipe is that as soon as you know how to make the dough and the shape, you can flavour it with whatever you want. I made it with sugar, spices and butter but you can put your favourite jam, chocolate, or even better, you can make it salty! Pesto, nuts, ham, cheese… You see me coming, right? I think it won’t be my only star bread on this blog! So I will let you enjoy this one and we’ll see what will be the next one! This is sooooooooo GOOD!!!

Enter the Legacy! That’s what 3 of my friends will try to do this Tuesday in Miami during the Bacardi Legacy national finals, one of the most prestigious cocktail competitions in the world. For the past few months, waiting for the live national finals, every regional finalist been trying to spread their cocktail as much as they could in order to make of their creation, the next Bacardi modern classic cocktail.

This recipe is all about fluffiness. I love this word so much and even more when it’s to describe dessert, bread, cake or in this case pancakes! Eating those is like eating a cloud of happiness. It’s fluffy, cozy and delicious. Of course, you can choose your topping. Maple syrup, caramel, little berries, you decide! Once you have the pancakes, everything else is just adding a little extra to a perfect delight.

This week I got an intense craving for another road trip with Jean-Félix. I was obsessed with Greece. As we didn’t have enough time during our last trip, we didn’t get to go there. I didn’t want to rush it, so we saved it for the next adventure. I wanted to take my time and browse the entire country. Every city, every island has its own soul. Whether it is food, drink, traditions or the way to live. They all have some differences and their own way to make everything. It’s a lot to discover. In the same way and for the same reasons, we want to go back to Italy and do the same. Browse every single city because again, there is way too much to see, learn and discover to wrap it up in 10 days. We had the feeling that we missed so much there … but Italy will be for another story and for sure other recipes! I will keep the focus on Greece for today! HAHAHA!!!

I decided to put myself in the mood and cook a delicious Greek meal. I love Greek food culture. It’s all about the freshness of ingredients. Simple, fresh and so flavourful … Oh! Wait… It makes me think of Italy again! HAHAHA
